Indiana

Indiana licenses dietitians and protects the title “licensed dietitian” and “L.D.” but does not place restrictions or require a license to provide nutrition care. Holistic nutrition professionals may work within their scope of practice.

Article 14.5-7-1 states

an individual who does not hold a certificate issued under this article before July 1, 2019, or a license issued under this article after June 30, 2019, may not:

(1) profess to be a licensed dietitian; or

(2) imply by words or letters such as “L.D.” that the individual is a licensed dietitian.
