We believe an education in Holistic Nutrition needs to be…holistic.

Food is medicine, and as more and more people look to introduce holistic practices into their lives, a new generation of clients will look to holistic nutritionists for guidance in their time of need. We created, and continue to update, our program with the intention of educating a new wave of mindful and skillful practitioners.

When you enroll at Pacific Rim College (PRC), you’ll enter the most comprehensive Holistic Nutrition program in North America. Our 3-year (6-semester) program explores the use of food to maintain health and restore wellness and integrates nutritional philosophies of various indigenous cultures and medical viewpoints.

The Diploma of Holistic Nutrition at PRC includes foundational studies in Ayurvedic Medicine, Western Herbal Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Western Medicine and comprises both theoretical and practical courses, including cooking and clinical coursework.

Our program will prepare you to be a well-rounded practitioner, as you’ll learn from a variety of instructors with different approaches and opinions allowing you the opportunity to develop into the practitioner you want to be while being mindful of the different approaches currently in the industry.

Throughout this program you’ll learn everything you need to know about nutrition and how to be a practitioner and start a business, you’ll learn how to cook from a Red Seal trained chef with a therapeutic approach and you will partake in extensive clinical training (360+ hours). It will take 2,115 hours (not including homework!) to complete the Diploma program. Approved by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training (Private Training Institutions Branch), and Canada Student Loans, you’ll actively be engaged in many forms of environmental stewardship throughout your studies.
