Beyond Holistic Medicine: The Biological Wisdom of German New Medicine for Practitioners

The Bio HealthWorks Institute’s Beyond Holistic Medicine: The Biological Wisdom of German New Medicine for Practitioners

In the early 1980s, a physician made a revolutionary discovery that diseases – from a cold to cancer – are not “caught,” nor are they malfunctions or malignancies. Instead, they are significant biological programs that assist us during times of unexpected distress.

Firmly anchored in our knowledge of embryology, GNM is a new biological science that reshapes our view of all symptoms and diseases.

This course, designed specifically for practitioners, teaches the five biological laws of German New Medicine that explain the cause, the development, and the natural healing of diseases and how to use it effectively in clinical practice.

Certification in Oncology Nutrition Consulting

Oncology Nutrition Institutes’ Certification in Oncology Nutrition Consulting

Approximately 85% of all cancer cases are caused by diet and lifestyle. Food is fundamental. It can contribute to the development of cancer and help prevent and manage the cancer process. The Oncology Nutrition Institute created the 100% online Oncology Nutrition Consulting (ONC™) program to provide proper and rigorous training based on the most up to date and comprehensive research in Oncology Nutrition.

This program illuminates what foods contribute to cancer, which may help to avert it, and how these foods impact health by referencing over 800 published studies. The information presented in this program empowers students to guide clients into making optimal changes. Nutrition is an effective adjuvant therapy that can enhance the effectiveness of standard treatments, including chemotherapy, while also helping mitigate side effects and improve quality of life – and this program is designed as a complement to conventional treatment.

Using Oncology Nutrition as an integrated and holistic approach to cancer significantly improves clinical outcomes. At ONI, we believe that all students and cancer patients should have access to safe, evidence-based, metabolic-focused Nutrition Therapy approaches to improve their care. Food is powerful medicine, and our job is to train students on the best practices in the emerging field of Oncology Nutrition. All of this within four, 10-week intensive courses, an Internship, and a final exam overseen by an instructor and our board members.

Endocannabinoids, Cannabis and Immunity

Maryland University of Integrative Health’s Endocannabinoids, Cannabis and Immunity

Do endogenous endocannabinoids and medical cannabis have the same effect? As medical cannabis becomes legal in more states, understanding how it interacts with the immune system is critical. The study of cannabis led to the discovery of the endocannabinoid system. These endogenous neuronal compounds have profound effects on the immune system. This online lecture will discuss the effects of endocannabinoids as well as medical cannabis on immunity.

The research on cannabis effects on the immune system has been slow coming. However, considering that cannabis receptor 2 is primarily on lymphocytes, there is reason to believe that endocannabinoids and cannabis have profound immune effects. Initially, the only studies of cannabis and immunity were only in people with HIV. Recently, studies of healthy individuals have been completed.

This presentation will examine the effects of endocannabinoids on immune cells and cytokines. We will then address how cannabis affects the same cells. Finally, we will look at how cannabis can be used in immune dysfunction, such as that found in pain, autoimmunity, and infectious disease.

Learning Objectives:

As a result of this lecture, you will be able to:

  • Discuss the immunological effects of endocannabinoids
  • Explain how the effects of cannabis differ from endocannabinoids
  • Predict cytokine profiles stimulated by cannabis
  • List immunological diseases for which cannabis would be recommended and potential effects

Format: On-Demand, Self-Paced Course. Estimated Effort: 2 hours to complete (video lecture presentation lesson, handout review, quiz).

Paleo Template 101

Adept Academy’s Paleo Template 101

Millions of people around the world are using the Paleo diet to reverse and prevent chronic disease, burn fat, and boost energy without drugs. While there’s no question that Paleo is a great starting place, the key to making it successful over the long term is personalizing it to meet your unique needs and goals.

The key difference between a Paleo diet and a Paleo template: following a diet doesn’t encourage the participant to think, experiment, or consider his or her specific circumstances while following a template does. The Paleo template is based on the principles of ancestral health and can be easily adapted to your clients’ specific needs. Master this template, and you’ll transform your practice.

In this CEU-approved course, you’ll discover:

  • The scientific evidence behind the Paleo approach to diet and health
  • How to do a Paleo reset
  • How to customize the Paleo template for your clients’ specific needs
  • The 14-, 30-, and 90-day diet transition programs to use with your clients
  • Best practices for working gray-area foods back into the diet based on client goals and specific conditions

Psychoneuroimmunology: How Thoughts Impact Disease

Maryland University of Integrative Health’s Psychoneuroimmunology:  How Thoughts Impact Disease Course

How do our thoughts and moods impact disease? How do infections and diseases change our emotions? Several systems in the body interact with each other to impact health, yet we often study them in isolation. As we have learned more in each of the fields of immunology, neurology, endocrinology, and psychology, the relationships between these fields have illuminated how they are intertwined. Understanding how the immune system interacts with the nervous system, the endocrine system, and the microbiome provides clinicians with a more complete picture of disease. Moreover, a knowledge of psychoneuroimmunology links modern biomedicine with historical constitutional types and provides a variety of therapeutic approaches to a patient.

As a result of this lecture, you will be able to:

  • Describe how the immune system, nervous system, and endocrine system interact
  • Report the relationships between cytokines, neurotransmitters, and hormones
  • Discuss the role of cytokines, neurotransmitters, and hormones in the brain and gut
  • List diagnoses known to have microbiome relationships
  • Suggest treatment possibilities based on PNI and microbiome relationships

Format: On-Demand, Self-Paced Course

Estimated Effort: 2 hours to complete (video lecture presentation lesson, handout review, quiz)

The Healthy Home Project

The Healthy Home Project with Environmental Toxicity Specialist Tonya Harris, MSHN

Whether your clients are still experiencing symptoms or are having trouble losing weight and diet alone isn’t working, there may be a missing piece to the puzzle: environmental toxins. While there are many we can’t control outside the home, there are many inside the home that we can.

This course is designed to help the practitioner teach their client how to discover which common toxins in their home could be affecting their health by addressing three main areas of the home: the kitchen (food & beverages), the bathroom (personal care products & cosmetics), and the laundry room (laundry and cleaning products).

After completing this course, practitioners will be able to prioritize which toxins to avoid for their clients’ own unique needs, how to identify (hidden and not-so-hidden) toxins on ingredient labels, and will be able to give clients options for safer products to buy.
